Facebook which is part of 900 million people’s lives today (and growing…), has taken over so many different facets of life: photo albums, email, music, and videos just to name a few. But will it last? In a recent info graphic from “CenturyLinkQoute.com” about The Rise and Fall of Online Empires, they showed the lifespan of ex-internet-giants like MySpace and AOL. The info graphic (see below) shows that the average lifespan for one of these mammoth sites is roughly eleven years. Facebook is eight years into its reign as internet king, but based on past sites that held the same coveted spot, Facebook’s reign is coming to an end. Also, with Facebook auto-sharing everything with a linked account (ex: SocialCam videos watched, Wall Street Journal articles read, and songs listened to on Spotify) and with it’s integration into iOS 6 the threat of “oversharing & cluttering” is ever present.  Do you think that it is the beginning of the end for the dynasty of Facebook and will it be the next MySpace in four years? Or will Facebook be the first website king to withstand the test of time (or at least pass eleven years).  Take the poll, comment and let us know – [polldaddy poll=6323750]
